February is right around the corner and that means it’s time for one of our favorite traditions: supporting Jewish Family Services (JFS) of Greater Kansas City in their annual Spread the Love PB&J drive!
JFS supports and strengthens lives throughout Greater Kansas City by providing essential human services for people of all faiths, ages, cultures, and identities who are facing challenges in everyday life or times of crisis. Each month, more than 800 families rely on the JFS food pantry, and 25% of those served are children under 18.
What We’re Collecting
During February, we’ll be gathering:
- Peanut butter
- Nut butter
- Jelly
- Nutella
- Honey
- Other non-perishable spreadable items
These staples are some of the pantry’s most-requested foods and help families easily build kid-friendly, nutritious meals.
Drop off your donations at Sloop Dental Co. by Friday, February 28 and help us support JFS in their goal of collecting 2,500 spreadable items this February.
Why Does a pb&J drive matter?
JFS depends heavily on community contributions: 60% of the food they distribute comes from donations. Peanut butter and jelly are among the most popular items families select, but they can be expensive for JFS to purchase through food networks. When you donate, you’re directly helping local families access essential foods that support stability, dignity, and health.
