We have been awarded Best Dentist by The Pitch’s Best of KC Awards for 2019 and for 2020! In 2019 more than 47,000 people voted and in 2020 there were 650,000 votes cast. We are so grateful to Kansas City and our wonderful patients for this honor.

Nextdoor: 2017 – 2023 Neighborhood Favorite
Thank you, neighbors! We have been selected as a Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite from 2017 – 2023 in multiple Kansas City neighborhoods: Western 49-63, Armour Hills, Morningside, Holmes Park, Spring Valley, Romanelli West, Country Side, Wornall Homestead, Brookside, Brookside Park and Ward Estates. We were also selected as a Favorite in the Stonehurst neighborhood in Olathe.

Southtown Council: 2017 Up and Comers Award

The Southtown Council and Foundation awarded Sloop Dental Co., with the 2017 Southtown Up and Comers award. The award recognizes new businesses and investments that make a splash and help improve our Kansas City community, specifically in Waldo, Brookside, and Southtown.

Sloop Dental Co. was selected for breathing new life into a long-term institution and approaching business with neighborhood values in mind.

When Jackie found an opportunity to work within walking distance of home, she grabbed it. In September 2015, Jackie took over Dr. Throckmorton’s 30-year practice. The residential structure, constructed in 1925, had been converted to an office in the 1980s. With the last major renovations completed decades ago, the property needed a refresh. As a local resident, Jackie was mindful of balancing commercial use with residential neighborhood values. Renovations (including a lot of sweat equity by she and her husband, Michael) have included re-painting and staining the building, improvements to the entry, redoing the landscaping, and working with Bike Walk Kansas City to install custom Sloop Dental bike racks. A host of interior renovations were also made to make the space welcoming, functional and kid-friendly. The resulting improvements showcase the practice while preserving the residential character of the building.
